Food Safety Modernization Act

According to the FDA, the “Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) is the most sweeping reform of our food safety laws in more than 70 years…”

Focusing specifically on the FSMA Preventive Controls for Human Food rule, SQFI knows the importance of this regulation and continues to develop additional training and resources. Our focal point is to assist our stakeholders with strengthening their food safety programs to meet the robust requirements of the Preventive Controls rule.

SQF Addendum for Preventive Controls for Human Food Rule

We have created the SQF Addendum for the Preventive Controls for Human Food Rule, which is a valuable tool to help suppliers identify and understand any differences between the SQF Program and the Preventive Controls rule. Used in conjunction with the SQF Food Safety Code: Food Manufacturing, Edition 9, this Addendum explains the additional requirements needed to comply with the FDA Preventive Controls rule.

The SQF Addendum can be used by FDA-registered food facilities within the US, as well as those importing into the US, to better understand the regulatory requirements needed to comply with the Preventive Controls rule.
