In early March, SQFI will release the SQF Edition 10 Code, marking an important evolution of the program shaped by
extensive industry input. Edition 10 reflects what the SQF community has been asking for—greater clarity, stronger alignment, and a more consistent approach to food safety and quality outcomes across the supply chain.
Edition 10 is designed to strengthen audit credibility, reinforce foundational food safety controls, and support greater confidence in certification results across the supply chain.
Following the release of Edition 10, the Code will move through the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) benchmarking process, with a planned transition period to support consistent implementation across the SQF system. Pending completion of the review process, we anticipate the first Edition 10 audits could begin as early as January 2027 (approximately nine months after release). Additional transition details and resources will be shared in the coming months to help sites prepare with confidence.
As the industry prepares for Edition 10, the need for shared understanding and practical guidance has never been greater, and SQF Unites is designed to deliver exactly that.
