Implementing SQF Fundamentals
December 6, 2022 @ 8:30 am - December 7, 2022 @ 4:30 pm
Event Navigation
Course Overview
The SQF Fundamentals Code was developed using the GFSI Global Markets toolkit. That toolkit meets retailers’ and buyers’ requirements for small and medium enterprises. The SQF Fundamentals Code for Manufacturing provides the essential requirements for building a robust food safety management system. This program can assist sites in creating a culture of food safety within the site including the implementation of a written food safety plan and good industry practices.
The SQF Fundamentals training program is the first step in the development of a food safety management system as part of a step-wise continuous improvement process leading towards SQF certification. Using an activity-rich approach, the training walks learners through the development of key food safety plans including employee hygiene, sanitation, approved suppliers, labeling and internal auditing.
Those individuals who have not completed a HACCP or PCQI class will not be at disadvantage; however, it is understood that a course addressing the development of a HACCP or a Preventive Controls plan provides useful, foundational knowledge.
Learning Outcomes
• Describe the role of the SQF Fundamentals Code in the pathway to SQF certification
• Develop key food safety programs associated with an SQF Fundamentals program
