An FDA study published in November 2018 found that restaurants with well-developed food safety management systems (FSMS) had significantly fewer food safety behaviors/practices out of compliance than did those with less developed food safety management systems. But how do you know if your FSMS is well developed and, if it’s not, how do you develop a strong and viable FSMS for your operation?
In this webinar, LeAnn Chuboff, vice president of technical affairs for the Safe Quality Food Institute (SQFI), a leading third-party certification standard for the supply chain, will discuss:
- How a food safety management system can improve food safety behavior and reduce the number of out-of-compliance risk factors
- Components of an effective FSMS, including risk identification, management commitment, training, and more
- How an FSMS helps your operation create a culture of food safety
How SQFI partnered with the National Restaurant Association to develop and offer to the industry a new tool—the SQF Food Service Code—to provide operators with needed guidance and a way to help protect their brand with solid food safety management practices.
