SQF Certification for Every Link in the Food Chain
Introduced on July 1, 2012, the SQF Code, Ed. 7 serves as the replacement for the SQF 1000 and 2000 codes – offering one food supplier standard for use by all sectors of the food industry, from primary production to transport and distribution.
With this standard, SQF helps make certification more attainable for smaller companies by dividing the process into three steps: from Level 1, which incorporates fundamental food safety controls appropriate for low-risk products; all the way to Level 3, indicating a comprehensive implementation of food safety and quality management systems development.
A code change map between the coinciding components of SQF 1000 and 2000 and SQF Code, Ed. 7 can be found here.
