Globally Trusted Food Safety and Quality Certification

Stage Two: Training

Your designated SQF Practitioner must meet the following training requirements:

  • Have completed a HACCP training course and be experienced and competent to implement and maintain HACCP-based food safety plans
  • Have an understanding of the SQF 1000 Code and the requirements to implement and maintain SQF 1000 Systems.

While successful completion of the online Implementing SQF 1000 Systems Exam would provide proof of this requirement, pursuing a course of study, either in a classroom setting or online, prior to taking the exam is highly recommended, though not mandatory. Training options are listed below. Click here to view a list of Frequently Asked Questions.

Traditional 2-Day Classes

The SQF Program offers two-day training classes for implementing SQF 1000 systems. The course covers SQF Program basics for all three implementation levels, the SQF 1000 Code, the Food Safety and Food Quality Plan and implementation and auditing of SQF 1000 Systems. These classes are available through licensed SQF Training Centers. Successful completion of an online exam is required in order to receive a "Certificate of Attainment."

Online Training Program

SQFI's online training program is a cost-effective alternative to the two-day classroom format for the "Implementing SQF Systems" course. It enables suppliers to train and involve more staff and allows SQF training to be more accessible to suppliers in remote locations. The course is self paced which allows customers to finish and follow the course at their own schedule. Successful completion of an online exam is required in order to receive a "Certificate of Attainment."

The online Implementating SQF 1000 Systems course is forthcoming.

Once you have achieved your training goals you're ready to start developing your system.
