Professional Training
At the Safe Quality Food Institute, we set high standards for the professionals who help implement and enforce the standards of the SQF Program. To make certain those standards are maintained, we offer specialized SQF Program training that ensure that SQF Professionals are prepared to meet or exceed SQF expectations before becoming licensed.
SQF Consultant Training Requirements
Potential SQF Consultants are required to complete a HACCP training course, and prove their competence in implementing and maintaining HACCP-based food safety plans.
They must also demonstrate their understanding of SQF Codes, and the requirements to implement and maintain SQF Systems, by successfully completing the Implementing SQF Systems course, which can be taken online through the the LearnSomething program or in a traditional two-day class conducted by our licensed Training Centers. In addition, they must successfully complete the Implementing SQF Systems online exam. The Auditing Systems Course can also be taken as an alternative to the Implementing SQF Systems course.
Practicing SQF Consultants who need to complete their annual professional update outlined in the Criteria for SQF Consultants may sign up for the SQF Professional Update webinar.
SQF Auditor Training Requirements
SQF Auditors are required to complete a HACCP training course, and prove their competence in implementing and maintaining HACCP-based food safety plans.
In addition, SQF Auditors are required to take the Auditing SQF Systems course and pass the online exam to fulfill the SQF Program training requirements. A Certificate of Attendance from the Auditing SQF Systems course and a Certificate of Attainment must be acquired to indicate that you have met the training portion requirements.
Please note that even after you have received your Certificate of Attainment and Certificate of Attendance, you must still submit your application online and meet the additional requirements outlined in the Criteria for SQF Auditors to be licensed as an SQF Auditor or SQF Contract Auditor.
