Auditor Upgrade

Overview
Below is the summary of required qualifications for an individual who wishes to upgrade their auditor status and apply for additional food sector categories and/or upgrade their risk level for an SQF Auditor. The application process will be the means by which all potential applicants demonstrate their experience to meet the following requirements. A complete list of qualification requirements can be found in the Criteria for SQF Auditors.

Summary of SQF Auditor Upgrade Qualifications

Advancement to another Food Sector Category and/or risk level can be achieved at any time, provided suitable qualifications and/or experience for that category has been gained. To gain registration for an extra food sector category, applicants will need to submit:

  • Supporting documentation demonstrating additional qualifications and audit experience in the relevant food sector category(s) (at least 120 audit hours for General Risk Processes and 160 audit hours for High Risk Processes) that substantiate the Auditor’s ability to work in the nominated additional category(s).

Note: The additional auditing experience shall be completed under the supervision of qualified personnel.

When completing the online application you will be directed to upload documentation to support your qualifications. To expedite the processing time please have these documents ready to upload before you start the application process. Once you begin the application process, you must complete the personal details section and save your information. If you leave the application page before submitting your personal details, you will have to restart from the beginning. To expedite the processing time of your application, please upload all supporting documents immediately after filling out the personal details section of the application. However, you will have 14 days to return to the application page and upload any supporting documentation.
