What are the criteria to become a licensed SQF Certification Body?
For a certification body to become licensed with the SQF Institute, they must demonstrate that they meet
the requirements of ISO/IEC Guide 65/IEC:1996 and the SQF Guidance Document for Certification
Bodies.
The Certification Body must be accredited by an IAF accreditation body that is approved by the SQF
Institute.
The SQF Guidance Document for Certification Bodies specifies the criteria that certification bodies shall
observe when operating third party certification of a suppliers SQF system. It provides guidance on
ISO/IEC Guide 65:1996 in order to satisfy the requirements implicit in the certification of a SQF system
and the product that is produced under these systems.

How does a prospective SQF Certification Body become involved?
Applications are invited from groups that can meet the above criteria.
