The integrity of the SQF Program relies on efficient, effective and competent implementation and auditing of SQF Systems. The SQF Institute has prepared specified guidelines on SQF Systems training covering the implementation and auditing of SQF systems. The training goals are to:
- to promote an understanding and awareness of food safety practices;
- to provide an understanding of SQF System principles, activities and terminology;
- to promote a common approach for the implementation and auditing of SQF Systems;
- to share knowledge and practical experiences in applying SQF Program principles;
- to impart the skills necessary so that food safety professionals can implement and audit an SQF System appropriately in order to provide safe, quality food; and
- to ensure a consistent and effective approach to the implementation and auditing of an SQF System.
SQF Training is targeted at 3 specific areas; SQF Auditors, SQF Experts (Practitioners and Consultants) and clients who will use the SQF system.
Training for SQF Experts and SQF Auditors consists of the 2 day course "Implementing SQF Systems". SQF Auditors and SQF Consultants must also successfully complete the 1 day course "Auditing SQF Systems".
The training is delivered by Training Centres licensed by SQFI who will design and adapt the training to meet the particular needs of an industry sector. The satisfactory completion of Recognized HACCP Training is a prerequisite for those planning to attend the SQF Systems Training Course.
