What does the Certification of SQF Systems Involve?
The certification of SQF Systems is managed by internationally accredited Certification Bodies who are
licensed by the SQF Institute. The Certification Bodies oversee the activities of their SQF Auditors,
ensuring that they are qualified and apply a professional audit service. The results of an audit are
reviewed by the certification body expert review panel and an SQF Certificate is then issued.
Certification is a statement that the supplier’s SQF System has been implemented in accordance with the
SQF Guidelines and applicable regulatory requirements and that it is effective in managing food safety. It
is also serves as a statement of the supplier’s commitment to producing safe, quality food.
