SQFI Award Winners

SQF Institute’s success is very much connected to our valuable stakeholders and their commitment to advancing our food safety mission. This year, the organization implemented the inaugural SQF Awards to honor companies that have made significant contributions to the SQF Program.

On Sept. 24 at the Australian HACCP Conference, the following organizations were honored for their continued support of the SQF Institute:

Certification Body of the Year – Silliker
Accepted by Mike Wallace, Director, Silliker Global Certification Services

Awarded for its strong support and growth of the program, Silliker is the largest certification body in North America and has demonstrated active participation on both the TAC and CB committees. The organization also has excellent performance on management of the SQF audit management system.

Training Center of the Year – NSF International
Accepted by Robert Prevender, Director, Food Safety Certification Systems

NSF has trained more than 1000 attendees in SQF in the last 12 months. NSF is very active in training material reviews, demonstrated excellent performance on surveys, and continues to be a strong supporter of the SQF Trainer registration program.

Supplier of the Year – Stemilt Growers Inc.
Accepted by Eva Lauve, Food Safety Manager

Certified for more than 12 years, Stemilt demonstrates a long and lasting commitment to the SQF program. One of the first SQF certificates in North America, Stemilt also had the first multi-site certification in North America, secured certificates for SQF 1000 and 2000 and serves in an active leadership role for the SQF Technical Sub-committee on guidance document development and the Technical Advisory Council.

SQF Outstanding Achievement Award – Coles
Accepted by Marion Bray, Supplier & Product Quality Manager

Coles was awarded for its lasting commitment to the SQF program. For many years, Cole’s served as a leading resource, providing SQF support and addressing questions for Australian stakeholders. Coles has shown active commitment requiring certification of its supply chain, working with auditors and certification bodies to drive continuous improvement, actively participating in the SQF Technical Advisory Committee and providing technical support on the 5th edition of SQF 1000.
